HINE PU TE HUE - GODDESS OF SOUND, VIBRATION + PEACE
print by Charlotte Manawanui Christie
This Atua-Wahine comes from the realm of Rongo. She brings peace, vibration and ora...she is connected to the pulse of Papatuanuku and reminds us to slow down, to breathe and be in our centre. She embodies aroha, fertility and creation. She works on the whare tangata/womb and on healing bloodlines, whakapapa ora and releasing trauma from the cells. Hine Pü te Hue uses sound to realign, to remind us of the depth of our knowing. The wisdom that sits within our womb and that through the vibration of love - all may be released, transmuted and made whole.
“He Korowai Aroha” - the cloak of love that binds and protects.
Acrylic on canvas by Charlotte Manawanui Christie
This piece tells a sacred story — one of the enduring, unshakeable love that a mother holds for her tamariki, both within the womb and beyond it, in this world and the next. It is a tribute to the courage it takes to trust the quiet guidance of our tūpuna — the whispers of the ancestors, the karanga of the soul — and to follow a path that is true. A path aligned with the wellbeing of pēpi, with wairua, and with purpose.
It is a reminder that we are never alone. Our ancestors walk beside us, guiding our steps and lighting the way — reminding us that there is always a path forward, even when it is hard to see.
This work speaks to Tino Rangatiratanga — the sovereignty of self, the strength in standing in one’s truth. It reflects Mana Motuhake — the sacred right to care deeply and fiercely for what matters most. This is the essence of Kaitiakitanga — guardianship, protection, and reverence for life in all its forms.
This piece embodies the power of love — not a passive love, but a fierce and generative one. A love that holds us all to account, that asks us to rise for those who matter most. It is a call to remember who we are, and the sacred responsibility we carry.
May this piece offer comfort, strength, and inspiration to all who encounter her. May she whisper stories of remembrance — of reclaiming truth, rediscovering voice, and returning to the innate beauty and sanctity within.
May she help guide our young ones in making informed choices, grounded in aroha, dignity, and the wisdom of our ancestors — planting the seeds of a future in harmony with life.
May we never forget the sanctity we carry as wāhine — as mokopuna of Papatūānuku. Guardians of creation, dreamers, singers of ancient songs. Birthing new life into form, and carving out new worlds for our babies to thrive.
IXCHEL - MAYAN MEDICINE WOMAN
Acrylic Print A4 Size
By Charlotte Manawanui Christie
This Atua-Wahine guards and protects the realms of childbirth, fertility + healing. Ixchel’s whakapapa originates from Meso-America/Central America and upholds great honour and prestige in the Mayan world. For Maori, her attributes are similar is to Hina-te-iwaiwa. Being cyclical in her nature, she governs and works with the moon cycles, the tides, emotions, the waters within and also the flames of fertility, conception and healing. Ixchel is the Goddess of the Rainbow. She navigates realms within realms. She has a fierce strength and gentleness that heals and transmutes. She is honoured as the atua wahine of women's health and wellbeing. Old stories from the ancient ones speak of the whakapapa ties Maori have with the Mayan people. Some say both originate from the same star. Ixchel brings medicine, truth, healing + rebirth.

The stories. The kāranga. The dreaming.
Downloads of ancient remembering.
The wisdoms of times before this one and times beyond now.
Woven within the matrix of your DNA.

Your whakapapa holds the codes of your awakening.
As you too, hold the ability to carve your own path.
Held within you, are the keys to every door you will ever open.

Your potential lives inside of you.
It awaits your remembering.
Your ancestors guide you, protect and support your unfolding;
Yet it is you who is required to take action.
